Very consulted on the web and on mobile, Youtube works the most on TV across the Atlantic. It is therefore not surprising that Google pampers its flagship platform. At the end of April 2025, the firm deployed several new features and made some changes to the YouTube application on televisions. Let’s go around.

YouTube on TV improves to facilitate navigation

First of all, youtube on TV has new “shelves”, the central sections where content is automatically grouped to facilitate discovery. We will thus note “continue your research” which displays the three main user research to resume quickly, “listen again” and “live, remix and covers” for music lovers, or two sections taking up the most viewed channels and the most recently seen on the primetime channels for subscribers.

Then, the podcasts now have their own dedicated tab in the bookstore. In the sections where they are present (subscriptions and then to see), the shorts are now separated from longer videos. The result is a clearer and lighter interface to find what you want.

Improvements everywhere

For loop lovers, it is now possible to use LOOP functionality on all VOD content, and no longer only within playlists.

The video preview system has also been improved. Videos can now be played directly in the background on the pages of channels, subscriptions and subjects. In addition, channels can now take advantage of “immersive previews”, full screen videos at the top of the channels to accommodate users.

Finally, for creators, a new card in Studio Analytics allows you to know the Watch Time of its videos depending on the type of device (mobile, computer, TV or tablet).

You can now know where your videos are the most watched.

YouTube

YouTube is above all a participatory video streaming site where each user (professional and private) can create their own universe and share all their videos with others.
