Forgotten files: 5 series to see if you like this police series on Netflix
Since May 29, 2025, Netflix offers a new police series on its streaming service, developed by the scriptwriter of the phenomenon The lady’s gameScott Frank, and Chandni Lakhani (Vigil). Titled Forgotten files and worn by Matthew Goode (Downton Abbey), this new show follows Carl Mock, an abysmal police officer who finds himself at the head of a new department responsible for investigating unopenable business.
If you devour this series this weekend and fall in love (questionable) of his anti-hero, then Digital invites you to see or review five other programs available in streaming with investigators with well -tempered characters.
Sherlock
The adventures of Sherlock Holmes and his lifelong acolyte, Doctor Watson, are transposed in the 21st century.
In this series by Steven Moffat (Doctor Who) and Mark Gatiss (Dracula), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange) and Martin Freeman (The Hobbit) camp the legendary heroes imagined by Arthur Conan Doyle. The duo works wonderfully and Cumberbatch brilliantly embodies a sherlock who does not know how to make friends while Freeman is most endearing in Watson. In total, the series has only 13 episodes (including a special taking place in Victorian era), making it an ideal program in Binger during the weekend.
The four seasons of the series can be found on Netflix and Max.

Slow Horses
The adventures of a dysfunctional team of MI5 agents – and their odious boss, the famous Jackson Lamb – who sail in the troubled spy world to defend England against evil forces.
Arrival on Apple TV+ in 2022, this series of espionage with Gary Oldman (the saga Harry Potter) and Jack Lowden (Dunkirk) conquered more than one subscriber to the Apple streaming service thanks to its black humor, its atypical characters and its breathtaking history. If you like Carl Mock’s arrogance and sarcasm in Forgotten filesthen you will be a fan of Jackson Lamb (Oldman) and its pincia replicas in Slow Horses.
Slow Horses is to be seen on Apple TV+ (included in the offers Canal+).

True detective – Season 1
The hunt for a serial killer initiated in 1995, through the cross and complementary investigations of two detectives, Rust Cohle and Martin Hart.
Unlike the hero of Forgotten filesthose of True detective (especially in the first season of this anthology series) are not completely undrinkable types but, like him, they are tormented. So if you like captivating surveys and cops with a troubled past, don’t miss this series of Nic Pizzolatto in season 1 by Matthew McConaughey (Interstellar) and Woody Harrelson (Welcome to Zombieland).
True detective is available on max.

Captain Marleau
Captain Marleau has the instinct of the hunter under voluntarily offbeat ways. As she says herself, she does not fly over a matter, she “pushes herself”. She watches her prey, tracks and surprises them unexpectedly. His hunts are organized, in each episode, around a central character, man or woman, at the height of this extraordinary cop.
There are arrogant cops and really not cool with their colleagues, like Carl Mock, and then there the Captain Marleau, embodied by the brilliant Corinne Masiero (Louise Wimmer) in the eponymous series created by Elsa Marpeau and produced by Josée Dayan. If this gendarmerie captain is not bad (even if she likes to send people to walk around from time to time), she is most eccentric and loves black humor as Carl Mock. Living the investigation to the four corners of France, she shows formidable deduction capacities to get her hands on the culprits.
All episodes of Captain Marleau are not available in streaming but the series can be found for free on France.TV and M6+.

Dr. House
Doctor Gregory House is a brilliant Misanthrope tendency who runs a team of interns in Princeton-Plainsboro hospital in New Jersey. House is an arrogant, cynical, anti -conformist and asocial man. He suffers from a claudication from chronic pain in the right leg, walks with a cane and abuses from Vicodin, an opiate pain reliever, to relieve his pain.
If Carl Mock was a doctor, his name would be Gregory House. The character embodied by Hugh Laurie (The Night Manager) in the series of David Shore (The Good Doctor) is indeed as a mock: sarcastic, execrable with all those around him (patients or colleagues) but brilliant. He resolves the most complex medical mysteries with a team of doctors to whom he returns life almost impossible, but his black humor and his memorable replicas in the background one of the most essential anti-heroes on the small screen.
The eight seasons of Dr. House are available on Video premium and Netflix.
